In 2021 HSL began a new project to benefit the literacy fund. "A Parade of Trees" was held at the Hartwell Art Center and many organizations, businesses, and individuals participated by creatively decorating a themed Christmas tree. The trees were on display for 3 days during which, the public could view them, vote on their favorite, and silently bid on a tree. The project was a great success, raising money for literacy projects and providing a fun, festive event for the town. There is an increased demand for the trees, and the event continues to be fun for the community and a successful fundraiser for HSL.
