The Health and Wellness committee's purpose is to provide education on financial issues and health awareness as well as to promote health and wellness for members of the community.
Walking Wednesdays
Each Wednesday, weather permitting, members get together for an invigorating walk along Benson Street from the library to Quality Foods and back. Members that can't be at Walking Wednesdays are encouraged to walk at their own convenience.
Soup in a Bag
Our Health & Wellness Committee members — Donna Grant, Marguerette Shackleford, Mary Brooks Hogan, and Gay Brown — assembled 20 “Soup in a Bag” kits to be distributed through the Hart County Food Pantry.
Each kit includes everything needed for a comforting family meal: five cans of assorted vegetables and beans, cornbread mix, and even a can opener — making it easy for families to prepare a hearty vegetable soup and warm cornbread at home. While spring has teased us with a little sunshine, colder temperatures are heading back our way in the coming weeks. We hope these complete supper kits will help keep local families warm and well-fed during the chilly days ahead!
Supporting Wellspring Living
HSL donated these backpacks to Wellspring Living facilities for rescued victims of human trafficking.
