The Hartwell Service League presented the Hart County Education Foundation with a $500 donation last week to benefit the REACH Hart program. REACH, or Realizing Educational Achievement Can Happen, is a mentoring and scholarship program, which begins in the 8th grade with the identification of academically promising students, most of whom will be first generation college or technical school graduates. The five annually selected REACH scholars in each class are paired with a volunteer community mentor and an academic coach, both of whom help guide the scholar throughout their middle and high school years. To provide support or learn more about the REACH Hart program, please email Hart County Education Foundation Director Bobbie Busha at bobbie.busha@hart.k12.ga.us.
Cheri Griggs Receives Lifetime Achievement Award
Congratulations to HSL’s own Cheri Griggs who was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Hart County Chamber of Commerce at their banquet for her years of service to Hart County! As the founder of our Pre 4th Celebration, host to many foreign exchange students, and other services too many to list, Cheri is a well-deserving choice, and Hartwell Service League is very proud of her! And her family was there to surprise her!
Check out these videos of Cheri receiving her award.
